In Sudan, songs resonate everywhere. Inside and outside every home, in the street, in the fields, on the banks of the Nile and on the shore... Singing is as important to every Sudanese as breathing, and children absorb sounds and rhythms from the time they are in their mothers' wombs.

Sudanese artists draw inspiration from nature, from the contrasting colors of deep blue rivers and the sea, yellow-brown soil, green plants and red flowers, to transform their creativity into vibrant paintings, decorations, drawings and handicrafts, just as their ancestors did for thousands of years.
History.
Today's Sudan, and more specifically the Nubian Nile Valley, its steady flow of clean water, fertile soil and its protective mountain ranges, provided the ideal environment for humans to thrive for around two million years, to develop tools, knowledge and science and ultimately create an advanced society and civilization.
Heritage and traditions
For heritage to be passed down from generation to generation over thousands of years, a cohesive society, interactive communities, a sense of belonging and dignity, deeply rooted moral principles, and mutual respect and appreciation for elders are essential. This is the foundation of Sudanese heritage to this day.
